Product Description
More and more data from archaeological surveys is being stored digitally in a variety of formats. This will cause many problems for future researchers unless some degree of standardisation is imposed. The Arts and Humanities Data Service (AHDS-of which the Archaeology Data Service is part) is an organization funded by the UK government to provide instruction in the applying recognized standards and good practice to the creation, preservation and use of digital resources. This guide is part of a series which includes tips for discovering and reusing extant digital data, information about creating and managing new digital data, and guidance to ensure proper preparation and documentation of this data for long-term archiving. Each guide is peer-reviewed by a panel of international experts.
