5.0 out of 5 stars *****Great Guid, Lots of Info*****, December 10, 2007
By Sarwat Ezzeldin "sezzeldin" (Irvine, CA, United States) - See all my reviews

In This book "Living and Working in France", David Hampshire gave very helpful information and guidance regarding the various rules, regulations and the complex bureaucracy in France. I will be retiring in south France soon, and I needed all the guidance I could get regarding bringing an automobile and other household items, Visa and residency requirements, Taxation, Health care, etc. I've found this book to be very helpful and contain very valuable info and thorough answers to all the questions I have so far; it's going to be my reference for a long time to come. Well worth the price

3.0 out of 5 stars If you an American this book is not for you, January 30, 2009
This book would be great for a British person. But if you are American and looking to move to France this could confuse you ever more. When it talks about schools, for instance, it compares French to British school systems. Everything is compared to the way it is in the UK so if your not familiar with the way things are in Britian then this book will leave you none the wiser. Obviously writen by a brit for brits. Hardly any useful info for no EU residents. Very disapointed that I wasted my money and time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great reference book - moving to France, December 18, 2007
By corey (chicago, il) - See all my reviews
This is a great book packed with helpful information. If you are very familiar with France, however, you could probably skip over a few of the chapters. Otherwise, this book is a useful reference containing e-mails, addresses, websites and helpful numbers throughout. If you are seriously thinking of moving to France, I recommend this book. It will give you a good idea of what lies ahead!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tres bien!
Great introduction to lots of different aspect of the life in France. The only downside of covering so many different subjects is that it doesn't go into too much details. Read more
