Editorial Reviews

Product Description
To divert attention from its priesthood pedophilia scandals, the Vatican allows Doctor Marcus Leon to extract DNA from blood trapped in the Shroud of Turin. Dr. Leon then ignites a firestorm of controversy by announcing his plan to clone the image upon the Shroud – that of the man known by history as Jesus of Nazareth.

The experiment is a success and the masses turn to embrace the clone as the encapsulation of Christ, failing to recognize that science can replicate the body but cannot touch the soul.

Devoid of this essential spirit, the clone is nothing more than a directionless vessel in need of a captain – a position quickly assumed by the Anti-Christ, whose strength grows as the geographically fragmented gatherings of "non-believers" are killed.

Can Dr. Leon marshal the forces in time to save the world? Can the Anti-Christ be stopped?

From the Publisher
The Shroud is a riveting, engrossing tale that grabs you by the throat from the opening line onward, and yet somehow manages to simultaneously stimulate your intellect.

Dead End Street highly recommends this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Shroud kicks ..., March 8, 2003
By steve (Ambridge, PA USA) - See all my reviews
Author Jacqueline Druga-Marchetti has done it again with The Shroud! This book takes an intriguing idea and executes it into a scarily plausible scenario. With characters that sparkle and leap off the pages, the combination of wit, humor, science and horror will have you frantically turning pages till you reach the end. I can't wait for the next installment!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful!, March 6, 2003
By A. Wallace (VA United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The Shroud is a wonderful read full of excitement and horror, and great characters. The plot is evident from the synopsis, a darn good one too, so, I'll get into the characters here. I fully enjoyed the relationship between Kyle (Reggie's father) & Reggie, Reggie & Marcus, but I truly enjoyed Reggie. She's my kind of gal, the kind that can take care of herself, verbally and physically. Devante (the Anti-Christ) is incredible, and most of all I enjoyed the reactions and conversations that took place with Devante and others in the novel. Although not an amusing story it did possess some humorous parts that I thought added much to the story. But there is also mystery in this story, the mystery of Michael. Great job, Ms. Drugo-Marchetti!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jackie does it again!, March 3, 2003
By Allison Pollack Alexander (Mt. Airy, Maryland United States) - See all my reviews
I've always enjoyed Jacquelines work, but The Shroud takes the cake. This ones a page-turner, and a very bizzarre, but believable story. Jackie has that gift down pat!
