3.0 out of 5 stars ...and then what?, August 15, 2000
I was so excited to finally find a book that is dedicated to 1940s hairstyles, but disapointed when I actually sat down to read it. Although the book is very cute with lots of illustrations and information for choosing an appropriate style for ones face shape, hair type, and so on, it doesn't go into enough detail on HOW to create the style or effect. This book is an entertaining and fun reference that helps stimulate ideas, but fails to assist in the realization of the 'do.

3.0 out of 5 stars wigmaker speaks, June 11, 2000
By Haunt Couture (pajamaland, nj United States) - See all my reviews
this has a very helpful book, but i wish that the haircutting section had final pictures of the cuts. actually, i wish that the book had more "real" pictures than drawings. still, as a wigmaker, i tend to style a lot of 40s hairstyles, so i'm pretty happy with it
