Product Description

This twelfth installment in the WARMACHINES series takes a revealing look at the details of the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS). The beautiful full color photography contained in this book captures details such as suspension, cab interior, access panels, rocket cage assembly, hoist mechanism, launcher drive system, rocket pods, tilting cab, and field maintenance scenarios. The MLRS in German service, as well as those serving with the U.S. Army in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm are photographed in stunning detail to ensure comprehensive coverage of this very reliable and cost-effective artillery weapon. This book will please both the military enthusiast as well as the scale modeler.

5.0 out of 5 stars Verlinden!, October 3, 2008

(REAL NAME)
Verlinden was among the first of the people who took model building to a whole new level making it an art form. My primary interest in this book was as a reference to build a scale model to. That's what its intended purpose was and it fills that role perfectly. There are differences between the US and german versions that are detailed here. You won't find this info anywhere else. If you are looking for a Jane's type breakdown of this vehicle, look elsewhere. If you need a great model building guide with large detail photos of this track throughout, this is your book!

4.0 out of 5 stars mlrs in detail, February 16, 2001
By "totalperspectivevortex" (Hackettstown, New Jersey United States) - See all my reviews
one of the few books i have seen with the mlrs in it ... not to mention the amount of detail it contains , full color pictures of the vehicle in action , the engine , deployed and fireing a true refrence for any military modeler. if you are building a model of the mlrs this is the book for you. you might also want to check out signal/squadrons M2/M3 bradley as it also details the mlrs(which is based of the bradley chassis)though not in as much detail as this book.all together warmachines #12 is a well produced book.
