About the Author
Bill OFarrell is a senior manager in the IBM Centre for Advanced Studies at the IBM Toronto Laboratory. In his career at IBM, he has been both a researcher and a development manager on several Java and C++ projects. In addition, he has taught Java programming to a wide variety of audiences. He received his Ph.D. in computer science from Syracuse University in 1991 and has numerous publications as well as five patents on object-oriented software technology.
