Rufus Hirohito, the creative brains behind the U.S. government's Giant Robot Warrior project, likes the spotlight as much as the next scientist. But his latest infotainment TV appearance doesn't prepare him for the next morning, when an attractive CIA agent drops in on him and his fat, grouchy boss with a message: the president will be there tomorrow to see the latest GRW strut its stuff. Of course, he gets it together on time (sorta), demonstrates it, and has to book with it, three hours later, to Paraqan, an oil-rich, dictator-led, radically religious Middle Eastern country that the president will in the meantime declare war on. Why? Because Paraqan has its own GRW, silly! Any resemblance between this wild satire and recent world events is strictly intentional, though writer Moore maintains that subsequent developments have made it more trenchant than it was when he completed it in October 2002.
