4.0 out of 5 stars Good resource, February 8, 2008
If you are a Mary Hunt fan (Everyday Cheapskate) then there aren't a whole lot of new things in the book. However - it makes a great resource for all the information she's complied.
If you are just beginning your jury into fiscal fitness - this is an awesome read. It's light an broken into sections so you don't get bored. The book is filled with common sense and some unusually innovative ways to save money and improve your financial well being.

3.0 out of 5 stars A collection of little financial blurbs, September 14, 2009
By Christy Pinheiro EA ABA "Christy Pinheiro" (www.ChristyPinheiro.com, http://selfpublishingreview.blogspot.com) - See all my reviews
This is a very light look at financial wellness. It actually looks like this book was designed completely for bathroom reading. There's no clear message; just 1000 tips on saving money, finding money, etc. Some of the information is really bad, like the chapter that asks, "Which Desperate Housewife Are You?" While I understand that it's supposed to be funny, it just comes off sounding ridiculous. The author writes as if everyone will understand what she's talking about when she says, "Ok, Bree is the housewife you will least like to emulate because she's such a priss."

I don't watch the show, so how would I even get this?

There are some good points. The chapter on credit card is useful and has lots of good information for those struggling with credit card debt.

One other thing about the book's physical properties. The trim size is odd. And the pages are shockingly white and SUPER glossy, even more so than a magazine. This might not seem like a big deal, but it was impossible to read with my bedside lamp; the glare off the pages was annoying and tired my eyes quickly.

I found this book very helpful and actually took some of the advice and am seeing a difference. I carry this book with me every day for quick reference and have tagged many pages of interest.
