Every year Michelin’s hotel and restaurant guide, an authority in its field, offers a selection of the best British and Irish establishments in a variety of categories. The 2003 selection lists 5804 establishments throughout Britain and Ireland; from guesthouses to luxury hotels, three star restaurants to pubs, and all with one thing in common, their excellent value for money.
To meet new reader expectations Michelin has extended the scope of its hotel and restaurant guides for Europe with a view to making travel even more pleasurable. Each establishment listed in the guide now includes a short commentary to give the reader an even clearer picture of what to expect.
Major changes in the restaurant listings include a new ‘one star’ Chinese restaurant – Hakkasan in Bloomsbury, among the 16 new ‘one star’ awards. Further up the scale, Pied à Terre in Bloomsbury has regained its ‘two star’ status.
