3.0 out of 5 stars It's Different!, November 16, 2007
This review is from: Madame Sin [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This was a rather strange movie. But, with both Bette Davis and Robert Wagner in it, it held my attention. Bette Davis plays an interesting part. Like always, she puts everything into it. I'd watch anything with Bette Davis, however, I would recommend this one to anyone. It is a spy/suspense movie. I believe it was made as a pilot to a TV series but ended up being shown as a TV movie. Bette Davis is superb at becoming whatever it is she needs to be at the time. In this movie, she is rather bizarre but as always captivating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Watch out, James Bond, August 22, 1999

This review is from: Madame Sin [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Great spy/adventure flick. Bette Davis makes an great villainess. If I didn't know it was Bette Davis ahead of time, I never would have guessed it was her. Great inventions/gadgets on par with anything created for Bond. And the best part? The 'good guys' lose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bette Davis & Robert Wagner in a Spy Sci-Fi, August 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Madame Sin [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Bette Davis is made-up & costumed to be a very eccentric mastermind who's involved in science fiction type of spy & high dollar theft tactics. Robert Wagner is the spy Davis & her futuristic team of scientific experts program to steal a major military weapon so that Madame Sin can resell it to US enemies.

The on-screen chemistry between Davis, the elder & Wagner, the younger is titilating. Davis does more than flirt with her real life friend, Wagner (who's the age of her real son. Mind you, both were adults). To see Bette Davis' turqouise eyes in color on screen is rare since most of her films were made in B&W. To watch Davis act in a science fiction film, as an eccentric, powerful, evil-doing woman is way out of the film genres she is so legendary for popularizing.

I love how she appears as a mysterious criminal mastermind who is exotic in the extreme. It's even more fun to watch Davis turn on her skill to seduce Wagner. I would classify this film as quite entertaining science fiction light. It's almost like watching Davis doing a masquerade. That's what makes it so much fun. What it also accomplishes is exposing Davis' acting range. She could pull off even this unusual role convincingly~

The movie sucked..bette rocked..point blank...! She was awesome as usual adding some star power to an otherwise James Bond wanna-be movie.
