This video documents how Tiziano Vecellio (Titian) brought to full maturity renaissance painting in Venice. This story traces Titian's artistic development from its initial stages under the influence of Giorgione, through the great works of the middle period such as the famous Assumption and the many portraits of nobles, emporers and popes, to the very personal style of his old age. One of the most important artists, innovators, and composers of the Italian renaissance, and a mentor for some of the latest european masters. Produced by The European Video Library.
