3.0 out of 5 stars It's Doom's day for the Fantastic... Three?!?, August 12, 2002
Victor Von Doom is the most dreaded villain the FF has ever faced. I just love when the bad guy is this evil! His origin is a very tragic one. His tormented childhood in Latveria; his college days where he met his rival Reed Richards, had his face accidentally scarred and got expelled afterwards; and his journey to Tibet where his quest for world domination beagn. The FF was set to stop Doctor Doom, but Sue's capture was the trump card. So, the team time-travelled back to seek finance for Doom's campaign. Although, I found the time where pirates plundered was a weird place to start. Ben Grimm kept me rolling, as usual, especially when he showed a pirate that he's no pushover with a cannon and balls --- don't get dirty-minded, please! After Reed and Doom tried to out-trick each other, the FF once again foiled Doom's plans. This series wasn't exactly the greatest of the FF 'toons, but the team's essence just can't be ignored... unlike HERBIE the Robot! Thank you, NBC execs and your "kid-friendly" ideas. That makes me wish that Johnny Storm would come from wherever, flame on and nova-blast his tin can "replacement" for good. anyway, give this video a shot.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the worst, but not that great, September 23, 2005
Meet Doctor Doom was an episode in the 1978 version of the Fantastic Four animated series that aired on NBC Saturday mornings. The episode is written by Stan Lee with storyboards attributed to Jack Kirby. It's a decent story, based on FF#5, with the boys going back in time to retrieve a treasure chest for Doom.

In the 1978 series, the Human Torch (a character with a then-pending movie deal) was replaced by HERBIE the robot, and the extreme limits against violence made it very hard to pack much action in any episode. Given those drawbacks, this might be the best episode of the series, but that's like being the tallest jockey.
