5.0 out of 5 stars Suspense, in HEAT, June 8, 2005
This thriller is based on a single lady, Kristen (soon to be bride) who becomes abducted by a crazy psychotic drifter after a visit to her want-to-be husband, Sam, a park ranger in Death Valley. After Sam spots an accident a few miles in the desert, the two go out and investigate. Then the thrill starts.

This is a wonderful performance on the part of Esai Morales and the sexy Patricia Healy. I saw it as a teenager at the age of 16, and I have not forgotten it. This is a must-see for suspense thrillers. However, word of caution: There is a rape scene in it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Esai Morales Goes Ultra Violent!, February 10, 2009
By McMagick "JM" (Way Off The Beaten Path, USA) - See all my reviews
Make no mistake about it, this is "Ultraviolet" (1992), produced by Roger Corman, starring lovely Patricia Healy, Esai Morales, and Stephen Meadows! This is a suspense filled, thrilling shocker, filmed in the desert.

Esai Morales ("Atomic Train", etc.) delivers a stunning, way over the top best performance as a chilling, extremely psychotic, sociopath, going by the name of "Nick". Mr. Morales makes the whole movie. All the acting is superb, Patricia Healy and Stephen Meadows really deliver to us excellent performances. Geez, the poor characters portrayed by Patricia Healy and Stephen Meadows have a couple of really bad days in this movie - ouch.

This is executive producer Roger Corman at his best! The production quality is excellent, and captures the desolate beauty of the desert.

Give up the story line? HA! Never, would I want to ruin it for you! You'll have to see it, to believe it!

...All right, ok, here's a little sampler: It's a romantic love story surrounded by the peaceful beauty of the desert, and filmed not too far from my own "hideout". There's also one of my most "favorite" situations - a snake in the house! Eeck! Everything starts to seriously go wrong. This includes rape with on going cold blooded violence through out what is really the brutally harsh desert - as our trio struggles to survive!

Lock your doors, "Nick" is way out there...
