The Greatest Thing Nick' Ever Produced, September 17, 2003
I can't believe how relatively short-lived this one-of-a-kind series was compared to most of Nickelodeon's contrived and un-enthralling entries like As Told by Ginger and The Wild Thornberrys. This show was the greatest slapstick, tongue-in-cheek extravagganza since the Marx Brothers and Three Stooges in their heyday. Some critics brand this eternal gem about a high-strung chihuahua and his hair-brained feline pal as juvenile, moronic, and violent, but if you think about it, so were Bugs Bunny cartoons. That's why they're funny! And why they've endeared themselves to our public conscience in such an indellible fashion. And let me say something else. Ren & Stimpy premiered when I was seven years old (I'm nineteen now), and I can say with undeniable certainty that THIS program is directly responsible for my lifelong love-affair with classical music. What other program has made such breathtaking and directly visual use of Dvorak's New World Symphony, or Tchaikovsky's Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture? In fact, if you listen carefully, throughout the course of one single episode, a different, great cue of classical music is played almost every five seconds! Can we forget how they used the Andante movement from Mozart's 21st Piano Concerto in the bathtub scene of Space Madness? I think not! Anyway, just some food for thought. And when is this show going to be brought to us on DVD? Thanks, and keep watching! ---Barrett

This video is brilliant. Why isnt it in stock anymore?, May 17, 2003
First of all this video contains Stimpys Invention,Space Madness and Untamed World. All three are brilliant and creative. My favorite one though is Space Madness. Ren is slowly becoming insane and the results are hilarious. He threw the tubes on the floor and said I want real food in that classic irritated way of his,but the funniest part is when he floats around in bathtub water and says "Youre not like the others you like the same things I do.Wax paper, boiled football leather, dogbreath." I love that line. He also says didnt you see em?Didnt you see the crowds,we arent hitchhiking any more were riding. It is not I who am crazy it is I who am mad. Stimpys Invention is my second favorite.Stimpy has all these cheesy inventions and when he gives Ren stay put socks and Ren asks how do these work.Stimpy says theyre full of glue then Ren says "you filthy swine I will kill you." But the funniest part is when Stimpy brings the record happy happy joy joy and plays it it has all these crazy lyrics like I'll teach you to be happy I'll teach your grandmother to suck eggs. Finally Untamed World is my third favorite. My favorite part is when the seagull is looking all homicidal and just asks the baby soft shelled Stimpy if he can have some money for a bite to eat.The turtle says good now get out of here scram deadbeat. All these cartoons are brilliant and in no way possible are they just for kids.
