From the Back Cover
The origins of many of the Christmas carols we sing today have their beginning in the Renaissance (1400-1700). My arrangements of these carols have always been a very popular portion of our live concert and I thought it would be fun to see how these songs may have been used in the time of their origins. Incidentally, track 1 "Gagliarda" is one of the very first pieces written specifically as a Christmas celebration piece. It is by Johann Herman Sceir, written around 1590. --Chip
