5.0 out of 5 stars Good for beginners, May 16, 1999

A really good video for people aspiring to learn blues rhythm and pentatonic scale. Keith is loud and clear and gives you the fundamentals of blues scales. You get tips on 'solo' and learn a few licks as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blues Guitar step one, January 3, 2001
This is an outstanding video for [the price]. Keith Wyatt is not only an excellent blues guitarist he is an excellent teacher. The video details shuffle rhythm and awesome rhythmic variations that actually make it interesting to play rhythm guitar. The video also goes into a segment on how to construct a 12 bar blues solo and blues phrasing. I have recommend this video as well as step two of this series to all my friends who play not only blues guitar but rock, jazz and country. It is just that solid of a video. On a side note I have purchased videos from many other guitarists and unfortunately many of them seem impressed with themselves or are great guitarists but crummy teachers, this series is both informative and humorous. More than worth twice the money. I have been playing guitar for over 20 years and found a wealth of information contained in this video.

4.0 out of 5 stars I am a beginner, May 15, 2002

Keith is a brilliant guitarist and an exceptional instructor, but i could really use some tab on the call and response portion of the soloing segment, i know that defeats the intent of call and response but hell throw me a bone here, i've been playing for 6 months and after 3 weeks of rewinding the tape i have only picked up 4 of the licks, if you are a beginner you will learn alot and have alot of work cut out for you, if you are an intermediate you will be able to pick up some valuable techniques, it is worth the money!
