Editorial Reviews

From the back cover
Kryten Remastered--Rimmer's donned his best uniform and Lister's put on his smelly orange moon boots, even Holly's wearing a toupee...after all, what self repecting smeg head could possibly resist a cry for help from three damsels and an android in distress? Better than Life Remastered--It's Cool! It's Wild! It's Better Than Life!--the new game sensation sweeping the solar system. Just dream and pleasure will be yours! Unless you have a mind like Rimmer's that is with Ron Pember as the Taxman. Thanks For The Memory Remastered--Rimmer's depressed--no one loves him. Not even his fried egg, chutney and chili sauce sandwich. It's about time he had a damp dream at least. Then four days go missing and Lister and Cat wake up with their legs in plaster...have the aliens landed at last?

5.0 out of 5 stars where it all started .... ropey but full of Promise, May 11, 1999
By A Customer
Red Dwarf is THE best sitcom to come out of the UK since Fawlty Towers. This early stuff looks very shaky and is a bit slow in parts, but you have to remember the budget constraints the producers were under, plus the newness and unfamiliarity of the cast to the roles. You also have to realize that BBC Sitcoms are often a 'work-in-progress' and unlike their american Counterparts, are more like evolving mini-theater, than slick high-budget network USA soaps that are written by a team of 20 or more. This series started life in a Brittish Pub with two crazy writers, and remained that way for at least the first 2 series (6 episdodes) They took at least that long to get it working right - an alien concept to American Sitcoms, where so much hangs on a pilot episode and ratings. The BBC is a great forum for generating experimental comedy. Red Dwarf was aloud to grow and mature. Now, it is a world-wide Cult hit, with a growing Following in the USA, and elswhere.

Watch this first 3 episodes, therefore, expecting to see a living History, a great deal of longe term plot and Character establishment, and yet soem very funny and wacky stuff unlike anything elswhere on TV ...ENJOY !

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't be a Git.....buy Red Dwarf you Smeg Head, August 26, 1999
By A Customer
By far one of the funniest series from the U.K. Red Dwarf is a must have for any movie cult collector. Spend hours on end watching the entire available series with such happenings as the "Cat" having his bowels working in reverse, or "Lester" the lead male character suddenly finding himself pregnant. If you do not find your self laughing you truely are a Smeg-Head.
