Want to get at the heart of the Pokémon craze? Fast-forward to the end of this video to see the video exclusive PokéRap, a music video that lists all 151 collectable Pokémon. That's right: 151 creatures to collect. Think of them as the starting lineup of all the NBA teams. Instead of knowing a player's stats, Pokémon fans have to memorize creature types and a Pokémon's certain strength.

This video contains three episodes from the animated Pokémon TV series. Our intrepid heroes Ash and his friends continue their quest, collecting Pokémon along the way. In "Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village," the heroes stumble on to a Pokémon health spa where injured Pokémon creatures can take in a little R&R. The courageous Bulbasaur that defends the spa does not take kindly to Ash's desire to be his trainer (and keep him in his Pokéball storage container). "Charmander--The Stray Pokémon" finds the cute title character abandoned on a rock awaiting a new owner. The poor critter will die if his tail light ever goes out. What will he do in the upcoming thunderstorm? The title characters in "Here Comes the Squirtle Squad" are water-spouting beasts with Jack Nicholson sunglasses and a one-word vocabulary ("squirtle, squirtle" is heard in a dozen different variations). Of course, Team Rocket is there to foil our heroes and steal Ash's valuable Pikachu. --Doug Thomas

Product Description

Ash and his friends discover a spa for wounded Pokemon that is guarded by a brave Bulbasaur. Can Ash and Bulbasaur protect the spa from Team Rocket's evil plans? Ash finds an abandoned Charmander and both of them learn a lesson in loyalty. Finally, Ash runs into a gang of delinquent Squirtle that have united with Team Rocket to cause trouble... Will Team Rocket ever go straight?

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Great though I did not buy the video, July 17, 1999
It's pretty good, for you people don't already record them on tape (I recorded mine), it seems like most of you haven't really seen the t.v series. I've seen it and recorded every single episode and for you people who are thinking to buy this video, it's great, you'll love it. Ash first goes to this place where a girl name Melanie helps sick or injured Pokemon, though she is not qualified for a doctor though, and she has a Bulbasaur who protects the Pokemon from people who wants to capture Pokemon there. Of course later Ash gets Bulbasaur. The next episode, Ash and his friends see a Charmander on a rock waiting for its trainer to come back and get it. Although its trainer is a jerk, left it there and wasn't coming back to get it. Brock, Ash, Misty are concerned about Charmander, after they found out that the trainer wasn't going to get it back they went to go get it, it was very weak. Later Charmander saves Pikachu and then it decides to stay with Ash since its trainer wasn't going to get him. Then Squirtle squad, I liked that the best, it was really funny. There's a squirtle squad who comes and digs a hole and Ash and the gang falls they play tricks on everybody because they were abandoned by their trainers. I'm too tired to put any more spoilers, but if you're wondering what happens next, support the company and buy the video, it is very good.

3.0 out of 5 stars "Don't be suprised if your kids won't stop talking about it", September 11, 1999
By A Customer
My son has watched it four times a day, and he likes to collect Pokémon cards. He doesn't want to be bothered while he watches it, so it gives me time to do what I want. I asked to watch it with him the first night he got it, and I'd have to say it really has something that makes it special to him. I know he'd rather be watching Pokémon than be in school, so when he gets home he has to watch it. Pretty good, but its really for a six to ten audience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pokefriends is my 4 year olds favorite pokemon movie., August 31, 2000
By "minesco" (Pittsburgh, PA United States) - See all my reviews
Good movie. A 13 year old may find it a bit dull because noone is "saving the world" but I like the movie because it actually teaches a few things about kindness and consideration for others. The movie also shows some of the history of Ash and his pokemon which is essential for understanding some of the idiosyncrysies of charmander. I highly recommend!
