Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Join fearless Steve and Terry Irwin as they struggle to return some crocodile "friends" to safety. Among the cranky crocs are jawless "Nobby," feisty "Lucy," elusive "Bindi" and, in what is probably one of the Irwins’ most rewarding captures, the massive and aggressive "Charlie". Don’t even think of trying this at home! You’ll witness the different skills and techniques needed to stay one step ahead of the giant snapping jaws!

5.0 out of 5 stars VERY GOOD!, July 18, 2000
This is a very good excellent video if you like action and adventure(and a guy the laughs in the name of danger,Steve Irwin). I've watched this so many times I know most of it by heart. GET IT! It's very educational for children and you will learn from it to !

5.0 out of 5 stars Crazy!, December 17, 2000
By Daniel Gladis (Czech Republic) - See all my reviews
I have seen only one video more crazy than this one. It was Steve Irwin' rattlesnake tour of the States. This guy is totally crazy! Would you try to catch a croc at night in a brown muddy waters with bare hands? Would you dive to free a croc trapped in a net? Would you provoke a 300 pound croc to attack you and then have fun with it? I doubt it. But Steve does all these things. OK, part of this is just a show, but still... See for yourself...

1.0 out of 5 stars Crocodile Dundee he ain't...., November 12, 2003
By Naomi Tilley "Story Buff" (Victoria, Australia) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'm editing my review in light of Steve Irwin's tragic death, but not my opinion of him in general. I recall seeing a documentary on his life, and feeling respectful of his genuine enthusiasm and passion for Australian wildlife, but that doesn't change the fact that many of his antics with dangerous animals were highly irresponsible.

Speaking as a born and bred Aussie, I personally feel disturbed to think people of other nationalities believe all Australians act and speak like Steve Irwin did.
I can understand how he became so popular in the US, much in the same way that Paul Hogan's Crocodile Dundee did. But his brand of 'Aussie larrikin' is not indicative of all Australians, and we do not all behave so carelessly around dangerous animals. In truth, it's a miracle he was not killed before this.

Steve Irwin was passionate about what he did, but there is a fine line between being passionate and going completely over the top.
My heart goes out to his family now - in particular, his two children who will now have to grow up without a father.
