5.0 out of 5 stars Let it take you away, February 2, 2008
By Vera Bevini "V." (Delray Beach, FL) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is more than a book: it's a violent awakening. A beautiful yet violent awakening. It's violent because it's real, it reads and feels real. It's not easy but it's so disarmingly beautiful.

The reader that reviewed the book before simply did not get it! Two million people across the world did. My adivse: pick up this book together with "Scusa ma ti chiamo amore" and "Ho voglia di te". Read them one after the other. Breath them in...

1.0 out of 5 stars worst book I ever read, December 23, 2007
I first read about it on the ghezzi-brian web site so when I saw the book at a news stand in Fiumicino I picked it up. The first thing I need tom tell you is that neither guzzi or gezzi-brian are even mentioned in the book. The book that seems to be clandestine motorcycle racing in fact reveals the authors extream ingnorance of the subject.

As an example the protagonist rides a VFR, an incredibly generic description that covers dozens of models over a period of over 20 years. One of the main characters gets an engine rebuild and complains that the mecchanic changed the oil.

But what is really about is a lazy vile thug that beats people including his family, his girl and his friends.

The text is full of shameless product placement and through most of it the writing is so vague that you can't tell what city you are in. The young characters listen to music of the time of their parents. It was very hard to finish the book but I kept hoping it got better but it did not. In the end the evil protagonist does not get his due, and neither does the horrible author.
