Baby Beluga is a fun-filled collection of favorite children's songs and Raffi originals, all performed in the singer's folksy, expressive style. Beluga begins with the sounds of whales communicating in their high-pitch squeaks (which presented here come across as cute and sweet) and features melodic lines that evoke vivid pictures of gentle waves and a frolicking whale. An illustrated sing-along book that is published separately is a nice companion to this first track, giving young listeners visual images of the song's narrative. The rest of this varied album blends traditional songs like "Oats and Beans and Barley" and "This Old Man" with four original pieces by Raffi, including the instrumental "Water Dance." Liner notes have the complete lyrics, a description and history of beluga whales, and explanations of Raffi's inspiration and ties to each song. This is an excellent album with catchy tunes that's sure to become a household favorite. --Tami Horiuchi

We own several of Raffi's recordings, but this seems to be the one that the children ask for most.

It, of course, contains Raffi's famous "Baby Beluga", favorites such as "Day O" and "Kumbaya", and original songs such as "All I Really Need" and "Joshua Giraffe."

If you don't own a Raffi tape, I would highly recommend this recording, particularly for long drives in the car or SUV with your children.

Our family loves Raffi's music, and we would love to share his music with you.

Raffi's music is pure magic for children! That's why he has been honored with numerous parent and children awards, sold 13 million albums worldwide, over a million books, and millions of concert videos. He's the Mr. Rogers of children's music. His music is good for children (unlike some of the commerical trash out there). And his music is so much fun!

"Baby Beluga" was certified Double Platinum in North America (and more worldwide). It's a favorite of ours. Our children never tire of these songs, despite playing them over and over. Your child will love it very much. Some say it's the best children's album of all-time.

The song "Baby Beluga" is definitely the best children's song of all time. It's so easy to sing along with, and the words are just great! Share Baby Beluga with your child(ren).

Our all-time Raffi favorites are:

-"The Singable Songs Collection" (his first 3 masterpiece albums in one value-priced collection).

-"A Young Children's Concert With Raffi" (an astonishingly magical concert video).

This is the best children's music you can buy.

Generally I don't like to listen to children's music but I make an exception for Raffi. We've had this CD for almost ten years and my son STILL likes to listen to it!
