5.0 out of 5 stars Moving and powerful., January 2, 2005
By Mandie (Detroit, MI) - See all my reviews
People are griping about this album and how it is not "Christian" enough. I am a Christian, I have grown up in the church and still attend. I have listened to countless sermons and they have never spoke to me as much as Plumb's lyrics have.
If you did research on Plumb then you would know her lyrics are used for healing. Plumb's lyrics center around the subjects that are too taboo to touch on in the church. If you listen with an open mind and a keen ear, you will see she gets the message across that God does forgive, and heals.
In the song "Unforgivable" she is talking about being emotionally and verbally abused and FORGIVING those who have done her wrong. "Nothing's unforgivable" She is practicing forgiveness which is a true Christian value.
No, she is not stating that God loves you and she loves God directly but she is getting the point across. Buy this album, listen to it and have an open mind. Have an open mind for us people out there that are too ashamed and embarrassed to talk about abuse, and pain to our male elders in the church.. and be happy.. be happy someone out there isn't afraid to touch on these subjects for us.

3.0 out of 5 stars One song makes it worth it . . ., February 11, 2001
By A Customer
I fell in love with the Plumb song "Send Angels" after hearing it a one of their concerts several years ago. I heard the song again lately, and decided to buy the CD. Let me say that "Send Angels" is by far the best song on the CD. It is absolutely beautiful and energizing. That said, the rest of the CD is a bit disappointing. The music is amateurish and sloppy in several of the songs. However, I like the song "Pennyless;" it's different from the others, which are much harder rock. Plumb is much better in concert than on this CD. However, the CD isn't awful; just don't assume that all the songs are as great as "Send Angels."

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites!, February 9, 2000
By R. Bronson, Jr. (St. Louis, MO) - See all my reviews
I can't say enough about Plumb. This first CD is actually better than their second release, candycoatedwaterdrops..which is a bit less "addictive".

I purchased this CD a few months ago and haven't taken it out of my CD changer yet. Even if you aren't a fan of "christian" bands, this is a CD worth picking up.
