As a youth with a great big voice, Half Pint raised "booyaka" mock-gun salutes from dancehalls the world over with his 1986 anthem, "Greetings." A tough debut to live up to, but the soaring vocals are just as strong in this 1994 collection of previous Jamaica arena hits. Half Pint comes close to his auspicious beginnings with "Freedom Fighter," "Winsome," "Come To Pass," "Don't Try To Use Me," the irresistible "Sally," and even with "Crazy," an unhinged lover's threat. The formidable drum & bass riddim twins Sly and Robbie pitch in to qualify nearly every one the 12 tracks as a timeless dance floor rammer. --Elena Oumano
