I own a LOT of Rob McConnell CD's. They are all superb, and this one is no exception. As usual, the band is in top notch precision with their fantastic swinging big band sound. "The Touch of Your Lips" and "Stella by Starlight" are KILLER arrangements! Just about have the CD worn out on those two tracks! This CD will be a sheer delight to anyone who loves the Rob McConnell Big Band, or anybody who loves really swingin' big bands. If you are not familiar with McConnell, this CD would be a great place to start.

"Overtime" is an explosion of swing and good big-band writing. Also the Ray Noble's "The Touch of Your Lips" appears dressed on a splendored arrangement by the leader, the trombonist McConnell. I elect this as the entrant CD if you want to begin a McConnell CD collection.
