5.0 out of 5 stars Maurice Ravel's "Pavane For A Dead Princess", January 12, 2002
By A Customer
Maurice Ravel's "Pavane For A Dead Princess" is, quite simply, the most beautiful piece of music ever written for the piano. It is sad, and melancholy, yet warm and hopeful. The song reminds me of a warm summer day in the south of France, with a warm gentle breeze blowing through a field of yellow daffodils.
Maurice Ravel was probably the greatest composer of the modern era for piano music; the other great composers of the 20th century being: 1. Segovia (guitarist, 1902-86); 2. Rodrigo (1902-1999) and his "Concierto de Aranjuez" (1940),3. Aaron Copeland.
