When Sammy Cahn died in 1993 at eighty years of age we lost a great songwriter and musician. Not only that but Sammy was a great character as indicated on this CD. This was recorded live in 1972 and is a wonderful mixture of Sammy telling the stories behind the songs and hearing Sammy or other artists sing the songs. For me the best parts are the stories and Sammy singing whilst being accompanied on the piano.

This recording is too good to lose so let us see it reissued.

A witty and funny guy! He gave a great insight into the amazing talent of writing words to music! The performances of the company was excellent and while Mr Cahn is no great singer, his renditions added to the pleasure of the CD.
