From Grove Press Guide to Blues on CD

Gary Moore had time for a couple cups of tea with Irish rockers Thin Lizzy in the mid 1970s before carving out a successful solo career in Europe as a rock guitar hero. This decade he's emphasizing his long-festering love for blues, first with Charisma's best-selling Still Got the Blues and then this equally pleasing album. While his singing has little depth or personality, his guitar plumbs slow blues like Duster Bennett's "Jumpin' at Shadows" with concern and caprioles effectively next to Albert Collins's in a busy arrangement of Little Milton's "The Blues Is Alright -- © Frank John Hadley 1993

Gary Moore is one of those unsung guitar heroes, of which we have far too many of in this world. His guitar playing is impeccable; all one has to do is listen to his great "I've Still Got The Blues (For You)" to understand and appreciate the fluidity and soaring guitar licks. He is truly a master at his craft, but a guitarist nonetheless that hasn't had much airplay, for whatever reason.

If you love good guitar work, ala Clapton, Vaughn, you will also love the work of Gary Moore.

Outstanding Musician and a great album. A must have if you enjoy the logical continuation of late sixties and 70, Blues Rock. Great tone, Great Soul and as always the right choice of notes.

This is Moore's 1992 follow-up to "Still Got the Blues". Very similar. Best track is the simply amazing "Story of the Blues" with some outstanding guitar work. Another standout number is a Little Milton song called "The Blues is Alright" with Albert Collins sharing vocals and guitar. B.B. King also appears on one song.
