5.0 out of 5 stars I cannot recommend this enough!, April 8, 1999
By A Customer
To be honest, I cannot hear this music without thinking about the TV show. But the difference is that I do not think about any particular scenes from the shows when I hear the music -- it has a great quality on its own. Hearing it apart from the show makes me realize just how good the compositions were in evoking mood -- and on the show's tight budget too! Anyway, I highly recommend this to anyone who, like me, was mesmerized by the show when it originally aired on TV in the 1960's.

5.0 out of 5 stars has most of the incidentals from season one and two(three is underrated in music department), September 29, 2007
By "Captain" Chambers "Ooops!" (somewhere I ain't s'posta be, its off limits I think.) - See all my reviews
Great uplifting music and hits on target with any star trek situation. The dramatic, sometimes high strung music is definitely star trek! And unlike the flat dull stagnent Next Generaton, Voyager, or the stoic tarn scummed Deep Space 9 garbage, or worse, the "Full House" Pop artzy style "Enterprise" juvinile jackanapes only drivel, this Courage and company origial serial music brings not only excitement, but also the needed moodiness and emotion in more touching senerios such as "Ruth" and the fight with finnigan in swashbuckling high spirits. Jeffery Hunter's "Monster" Fight brings that epoch roman battle feel with the lows and highs of trumpets and supposedly baratones played in rapid successions. Since Rodenbury himself called star trek the "wagon train to the stars" it is very high spirit to a western or a swashbuckling tale(similar formulas). Though Bones and Spock are space travelers and Spock is no Festus, the two star trek crewmen often remind me of "Doc" and Festus from Gunsmoke in thier off beat relationship. Any Star Trek fan(whether young or old or watched the original first or NG or even "Voyager") would be totally insane not to like the original upbeat star trek music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Soundtrack! Please remaster!, October 3, 2006
By MichaelJohn (Upstate New York) - See all my reviews
If you are a Star Trek TOS fan like I am, these CD's will be a nice addition to your original series DVD collection.

Though I enjoy watching the other Star Trek series, especially Deep Space Nine, I can't help put feel that the original series is still so much more fun and enjoyable to watch.

On thing that definately sets the original series apart from the spin offs is the wonderful soundtrack music and score. The music really sets the mood and compliments the action in each episode.

When I listen to each CD, I find myself visualizing the episodes that featured each track. I don't think the stories would have been as memorable to me without this wonderful music.

I highly recommend these CD's, but I do hope that they will be remastered soon to improve the overall audio quality.
