5.0 out of 5 stars Adorno, philosopher and composer, October 14, 2007
By Ross W. Smith (Reno, Nevada USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The CD is a revelation. On the CD there are works for string quartet by Hans Eisler and Theador Adorno. The Eisler works are from the 1920s and are interesting and show his great talent. The works by Adorno, particular his full string quartet are excellent. They are composed using the 12 tone technique and are beautiful, showing his debt to Alban Berg with whom he took composition lessons. The full string quartet is as fine as any composition I have heard using the twelve tone system of composition.

Thus, Adorno was not only a great philosopher, but a very fine composer as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent work, September 28, 2006
This album is really good, but i think it would work better for you if you had at leats a minimal idea who Adorno was. What i mean is, off course you can enjoy the music without any extra info, but knowing that Adorno was a pupil of Alban Berg, and the fact that he was into the Schoenberg musical composing school helps you a lot to understand this work. Very interesting and original dodecaphonic music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dude! B*I*T*C*H*EN Album!!!!!, March 3, 2004
By WrecksDart (Karate Chop!) - See all my reviews
Gotta hear it. Get on limewire/Kazaa/Gnutella/whatever! It's time to fire it up--this album will blow you away!!! Made me want to karate chop something, all crazy like. Adorno is the man, and he'll especially knock out all the marxists in the house--THIS GUY ROCKS THE HOUSE.
In short,
Get up, go out, and buy it. KARATE-CHOP!
