5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding enjoyable set!, November 19, 1998
By A Customer
This is a super set of 10 classical music cds. Each one covers the top ten pieces from a different time period. Even if you don't know most of the names of the pieces, you will probably recognize most of the music. Each piece is rendered by a different orchestra such as the London Philharmonic for "The Marriage of Figaro" to the Vienna Mozart Ensemble and many others. This is a basic beginner set for people who own no other Classical or who can't decide or identify which of 'that music' they like. You should definitely try it. It's a great price for a very good collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good beginning collection at an affordable price, July 18, 2000
By Maggie Boleyn (tudortimes.com) - See all my reviews
These are the familiar songs that you (well, at least I) never tire of hearing.

Sure, I think of a Bugs Bunny cartoon when I hear Rossini's "Barber of Seville", or the old TV show "The Paper Chase", whenever I hear "Eine Kleine Nachtmusik", but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate classical music.

All the "big boys" are here, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Strauss, etc., as well as some familiar songs by perhaps less familiar composers, such as "Pomp and Circumstance" (Elgar)and "Flight of the Bumblebee" (Rimsky-Korsakov)

A bargain at only 2 bucks a CD, this set will provide you with many pleasant hours of delightful music.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great "get acquainted" collection, January 29, 2000
To those who are new to classical music or anyone desiring to become better acquainted with the classics, this is a perfect collection. The most memorable melodies of the greatest classical composers are included. This collection is perfect for children or adults. I have used Top Masterpieces in elementary classrooms as well as in music workshops for adults. I highly recommend it.
