4.0 out of 5 stars The Mike Murphy period wasn't really ALL that bad..., September 12, 2007
By Lisa "A music buff" (Pompano Beach, FL USA) - See all my reviews
Call me crazy, but I actually quite LIKE the "different" REO with this lead singer-but that's just me. Sure, Kevin was the more commercial singer, but his voice gets on my nerves sometimes. My favorite album from the Mike Murphy period is "Lost In A Dream"-IMO.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ridin' the Storm Out, February 21, 2000
This is a GREAT album. Nothing but 110% effort on every song. Mike Murphy sang on this one and his vocals are soulful and very unique. If you are a baby boomer this will take you back to leaving home (Movin') , trying to find love (Oh Woman), losing love (Start a New Life) and trying to make something of yourself (oh sure these guys were going to California to be rock stars but you know what I mean)(Find My Fortune). No long jams on this like the live album, but Gary's guitar playing is excellent.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good old-fashinoned classic rock
This first album from REO is simple, honest and satisfying. Nothing fancy or very frilly here. Typical early 1970's classic rock style with some very soulful and fun tunes. Read more
