4.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad at All, September 29, 2000
By John D. Pride (Atlanta, GA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I first heard Eddie Money in the seventies when I was a college radio disc jockey. With a voice like Johnny Ray and a great gunslinger guitar player in Jimmy Lyon, they were like a Stax Volt/Motown/RocknRoll Glimmer Twins. I interviewed him for the University of Georgia daily newspaper and gave him a copy of the glowing review I had written of his debut LP. I later had the pleasure of opening six dates of his "No Control" tour with my own band. His new gunslinger at the time, Steve Farris, went on to be a member of eighties chart toppers Mr. Mister, and played on one of my own records. Nice guys. Now, if you put this CD in perspective, it seems to underplay the considerable role that Lyon played in that it eliminates some key tracks that he played on, most notably "Trinidad", "Gimme Some Water" and "Jealousys". Ed wasn't happy about Jimmy's departure, and the magic never quite surfaced again for the band. Nonetheless, Money was able to deliver a lot of great radio songs in the years that followed, and most of those songs are here on this CD. The hit hits from "No Control" and the terrific single, "Take Me Home Tonight", prove that this man deserves to be noted as a great vocalist and, ultimately, a survivor.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pay your Money for Eddie's greatest hits, March 21, 2001
By Bob Waskiewicz (Wintersville, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews
(TOP 1000 REVIEWER)
I love Eddie Money's voice. Its so different from everyone else. This greatest hits CD is a must for anyone who's enjoyed his music over the years. The early hits,Baby hold on,Two Tickets to Paradise,Shakin," and "Think I'm in Love" are all here, and the songs that put Money on top again in the late 80's,"Take me home,Peace in our time," and my all time favorite,"I wanna go back." This is the first song I play when I'm on vacation, lying on the beach."I wanna go back and do it all over, but I can't go back I know.."The live version of "Where's the party?" is great, with the audience singing along. There's about three other newer songs, and there fantastic also.Like the other reviewer said,"This Greatest Hits CD is worth the Money."

This album is definately Eddie Money at his best. It is a wonderful CD with all of Eddie's greatest hits on it. I just saw him in concert last night and these are the songs that he played and he still plays them well.
