Biography

Suicidal Tendencies are the fathers of skate punk and one of the seminal bands to mix punk and heavy and thrash in the early 80s (along with other bands like: Anthrax, Beowülf, Corrosion of Conformity). Originally made up of Mike Muir on vocals, Mike Dunnigan on bass, Mike Ball on guitar and Carlos Egert on drums, they had changed line-ups at least four times before their first release in 1983… Read more in Amazon's Suicidal Tendencies Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Quit Arguing, July 6, 2002
By C. Bick "Jackson88" (Hutchinson, MN USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I can't believe all the complaining about this record. "It's too metal" or "it's too punk"; blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. This album is a great retrospective of the early songs of a great band. 'Nuff said. The fact that they've been re-recorded should mean nothing. To all the anti-big label people: good production does not mean the band is a sellout. I'd love to hear some of my favorite Misfit or Blag Flag albums/songs on a big budget. Oh no, there it goes . . . I can hear it already "the energy isn't there" . . . Energy isn't lost with good sound... This album has an awesome sound to it and I would never classify it as selling out. It has many of the great ST songs on it. If you want to pick up the originals, go for it; they are awesome. But this is an incredible start to some incredible albums.

On the other hand, some will complain about all this punk rock stuff . . . I'll tell ya what, just because the song doesn't have a 3 minute guitar solo doesn't mean it's not metal. Some of these songs rock like no metal (or punk song) has ever done.

Final note: Who cares what the "label" the music has attained. If you like it, like it for what you feel about it, not what others say you should feel.

Rock on. This CD does.

4.0 out of 5 stars Come On People!, August 5, 2000
By Cyco Tyson (Hampton, VA USA) - See all my reviews
This C.D. to me is very good and well put together. There are gonna be a majority of people who have all the main albums, but how S.T. lines up the songs on this album is great. There's not a single song I don't dig and it is '80's punk at it's best. Rocky George smokes on the guitar Mike Muir's voice is great! Don't listen to these other people, take it from me because I've been into Suicidal Tendencies for years and years. Buy it!
