Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

Our Lady Peace delivers a trippy "Tomorrow Never Knows," Heather Nova neuters Peter Gabriel's "I Have The Touch," and Juliana Hatfield can't locate the dark soul in Marianne Faithful's "Witches Song." Also notable are tracks by Jewel, Love Spit Love (covering The Smiths), and Matthew Sweet (with guest riffs by Lindsay Buckingham). --Jeff Bateman

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely Delicious, July 25, 2000
Entranced by the movie, I just knew I had to get the soundtrack. Since the town in which my high school was in did not have this stocked, I had to go into the neighboing major city. Believe me when I tell you that the trip was really worth it. I still adore listening to the CD to this day.

Although Jewel is the only anoying track (what is her problem anyways!)it's inclusion should not stop you from buying this CD. From Letters to Cleo, to Love Spit Love (who's cover of the Smith's is ironically used in Charmed!)there are plenty of awesome tracks to override anything too cliched and poppy. This is one of the best CD's for spoky etherial music.

Since the movie is supposed to be dark humor, it is only fitting that the tracks are majority the same. Even if they share one song, newcomers should not get this CD expecting to hear something that reminds them of the Charmed TV series; the girls in this film are outcasts, and three of them abuse their powers by letting their over inflated egos do harm to others. In otherwords, the CD's supposed to be dark, cynical and gloomy

5.0 out of 5 stars It's as magnificent as the movie!, May 30, 1999
By A Customer
I have watched the Craft so many times and I have always loved the music in it. This sountrack has the best music and I love Our lady peace and I necer knew that that song was on there. That has to be the best song on there. The ltters to cleo song is cool, too. Overall I love it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not too shabby, May 18, 2006
By Clois (Portage, Michigan) - See all my reviews
I'll admit I don't listen to this cd very often. Some songs on this album do not make sense at all, and it's not long until you get tired of them. One of my favorite ones is Tomorrow Never Knows by Our Lady Peace. Other highlights include Dangerous Type by Letters To Cleo, Witches Song by Julianna Hatfield, and Under The Water by Jewel. The track from Spacehog makes no sense, and it's annoying and irritating. Oh, the score suite by Graeme Revell is cool, and makes me think back to the movie. This is sort of above average. You either like the song or you hate it. It's just one of those so - so soundtracks that could've been better. I wouldn't really recommend it because only some of the tracks are really good, and the rest are just tiresome, or annoying.
