I review many of Chente's albums and it seems that very few are worthy of less than five stars. Here is another great CD on which he teams up with a couple of excellent mariachi bands for one of his most classic discs ever.
All of these songs have a distinct mariachi flavor, and there are some of his best-known tunes here. Songs such as "Palabra De Rey" and "Tu Camino Y El Mio" are known by even the most casual Vicente fan. There are some others that probably should be just as well known. I especially like "Amor En Sombras" which is just a real catchy and enjoyable song. The musicians who play on Chente's recordings always seem flawless and especially so on this disc. This is five-star Chente and at a very reasonable price.
As I said, I do review many of this man's albums. Honestly, of the twenty I own, there are very few weak discs in "El Reys" extensive catalog. For those who wonder if I'm just giving these all fives, please see my reviews of "Motivos del Alma" and "Lo Mejor de la Baraja" by Chente.
