5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent score full of emotion and heart!, June 23, 1998
As the writer and director of "Last of the Dogmen" naturally I'm somewhat biased. But David did for my movie what every director secretly hopes for in a score: to elevate and enhance the emotional experience of watching the film. I remember getting the phone call from his hotel room here in L.A. where he'd been working on a theme for some weeks. "Can you come down right away?" he asked. "I've got it." Not long after, I stood in his cramped room and listened while he played a small piece of music that would eventually become the signature theme of the movie, especially the 'goodbye kiss' scene between Lewis Gates and Lillian (Berringer and Hershey). I looked at my fiance. Tears were flooding her eyes. Myself, I was choked with emotion because of David's beautiful music and because, if nothing else, I knew "Dogmen" was going to have a helluva score. Unfortunately, the movie flopped when it was released in Sept. '95. I hope the fact that you've probably never seen the film (let alone heard of it!) keep you from enjoying one of the most beautiful scores to come out of Hollywood in recent years. Thanks David. Love to Elly and George.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is no Dog, August 29, 2001

buy this CD; David Arnold is a genius. Every time I listen to it I end up dropping everything else I was doing, getting comfortable and just listening. He really captures the spirit of the storyline and the music stands on its own, as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars This score holds your heart in every note., July 9, 1999
By A Customer
Last fo the Dogmen was an amazing film that does not come around to often. David Arnolds score was just as awe inspiring and amazing. He holds the very soul of music in his score and never falttered omce. He captured the very essence and spirit of a people wanting to be free and the love that slowly blossoms in the film. With his score he opened the door in his soul and let every one see how grand he could be in such a simple way. He has proven that when he wants he cannot just make great and grand music, but music that comes frim his very essence.;
