The pleasure is all mine..., June 4, 2000
This C.D. is definately on my top five list albums of all time! I really enjoyed Via Satillite, definately a wonderful follow-up to Famous, another great album. I can't say anything bad about it, it is so awesome you'll have to listen to it to really understand.Super Deluxe, stationed in my hometown of Seattle, Washington, is one of the best bands to ever grace the Alternative-pop scene, or just the music scene, period. Unfortunately, not alot of people know about them, but regardless, their music is amazing. On Via Satillite, check out, #3 (Farrah Fawcett), #8 (What's up with me), #11 (Half Asleep), or #13 (Suicide Doll) for some of that Posies-pop that Super Deluxe is "famous" for. And don't forget, #1 (You're pleasure's mine), #4 (Love Liquid Wrap Around) and #9 (One in a million) one of my personal favorites, some totally enjoyable psychodelic rock that speaks for itself. As for the more guitar driven songs, #2 (Lost in your failures) and #10 (New Variations) they shine as well as the rest of the album. And for a special treat, #14 (Years Ago) and #6 (Commonplace) are basically the ballads, beautifully written and performed. Every song on the album is great! The lyrics are extremely well done, and the song writing is amazing. Braden Blake has the most beautiful voice, expressing levels of emotion that is unparalleled to any other artist I've heard. John Kirsch, Chris Lockwood, and Jake Nesheim round out the quartet, and each one plays an essential part in this wonderful Seattle band. Buy their album, and I promise you...you won't be disappointed at all.
