4.0 out of 5 stars Give this one a Listen, March 25, 2005
By Jane (Manila,Philippines) - See all my reviews
Im not a fan of the show and I bought my copy on sale because of a song by Tori Amos.I was pleasantly surprised to know that there are more better songs on this compilation. My personal favorites are "Love Me Still" by Chaka Khan,a good rendition of "Freefallin" by stevie Nicks,"Without Letting Go",and "All Ill really Wanna Do".But the rest of the soundtrack album is awesome. There's a good mix of rock, dance music, jazz and pop (not the crappy kind of pop that was common in the late 90's.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hustling to Have a Little Scene, May 27, 2007
By Lee Armstrong (Winterville, NC United States) - See all my reviews
(TOP 100 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Browsing on the Amazon web site for entries for Rickie Lee Jones, I stumbled upon excellent comments for this soundtrack. It's a delightfully bubbly collection that is well worth the money. The Bodean's opener "Closer to Free" blasts from the speakers with energy. I don't know who Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is, but "Cruel Spell" sounds like a swing version of the Pink Panther. "Stranger Than Fiction" is classic Joe Jackson, filled with 80s punk swagger, "Life goes on filled with disasters and friction; Life can be strange but love can be stranger than fiction." Rickie Lee Jones purrs through Donovan's classic "Sunshine Superman," "Everybody's hustling just to have a little scene, if I say it will be cool, you know what I mean." Other strong tracks are here from Stevie Nicks, Rusted Root, Nanci Griffith & Shawn Colvin. This is a nugget well worth pulling out of the dustbin. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Varied, unusual mix of music from the tv show, July 8, 1998
By A Customer
This is an excellent eclectic mix of music from the popular tv programme. Ranging from slow, meandering tunes to those which are more upbeat. You may not know many of the songs but the artists will certainly be familiar - howard jones, chaka khan, tori amos and many more. You'll like it....

3.0 out of 5 stars Not too shabby, but needs a little work
This CD, in my opinion, isn't that great. It does have some good songs, but they are redone by other artists that totally ruin the song. Read more
