Biography

An acoustic guitarist with a very pretty tone, Earl Klugh does not consider himself a jazz player and thinks of Chet Atkins as being his most important influence. Klugh played on a Yusef Lateef album when he was 15 and gained recognition in 1971 for his contributions to George Benson's White Rabbit record. He played regularly with Benson in 1973, was a member of Return to Forever briefly in 1974,… Read more in Amazon's Earl Klugh Store

5.0 out of 5 stars A Guitar Jazz Recommendation, July 13, 1999
By A Customer
Any body who like guitar jazz should listen to Earl Klugh's "The Journey." Like something slow and mello, listen to the title track; like something smooth but not fast or slow, play "Last Song"; or like something sweet and fast, listen to "Fingerdance." This is my recommendation that I don't want anybody to miss out on.

4.0 out of 5 stars Like an evening in front of the fireplace!, June 24, 2001
There's no secret that I'm an Earl Klugh fan! Have been for more than 15 years and will continue to be one until my hearing goes as an old man! This CD fits in perfectly with MY version of the BEST OF CD's that I make at home. Earl does some nice chopping away at the smooth-jazz genre with his jazzy ax in this one. My favs have to be, "Last Song" for it's flowing melody and the forceful, yet restrained groove of "Evil Eye". For this CD to be only 10 songs, I was a bit dispppointed, but he left me wanting more.....like a true artist should! Even though it's 2001 now, I still listen to this 1997 offering at LEAST once a month! It reminds me on being inside on a cold, snowy night! Just enjoying this warm embrace of a jazzy musical offering!

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely wonderful CD, Earl, Very Very Pleasant!, June 18, 2004
By Ufuoma Mogun (Warri, Delta State. Nigeria.) - See all my reviews
The greatest acoustic guitarist in the world is Earl Klugh. A very talented guitarist. Whenever i listen to his music, i feel at home. The tunes in this CD are second to non, just like his other CD'S. The master-fully rendered acoustic tunes from Earl kligh makes me feel like i'm in Heaven.I love all his tracks. Not withstanding, just check-out such tunes like,Autumn song, Good as it gets, The journey, Last song, Walk in the sun and others, you'll love them every time it's played.Earl is my main-man any time any day. I recommend all his CD'S to all jazz lovers, because all his tracks are extremely very good. If you like acoustic guitar tunes then listen to Earl Klughs' CD'S. Earl, you're the Best Acoustic Guitarist in the whole wide world.
