Lyle is music to Timothy (Billboard) White's ears, and his laudatory columns in recent years have done wonders in jumpstarting the careers of female artists in particular (homegirls Alanis Morissette, Jann Arden, and Sarah McLachlan included). This Hugh Padgham-produced debut paints the trumpet-playing Lyle as a jazz-inspired pop act who can swing like Lyle Lovett ("Mr. Trouble"), turn little-girl vulnerable ("Hocus Pocus"), and stretch out like Rickie Lee Jones ("Midnight Club"). --Jeff Bateman

I saw Kami live in San Francisco and was in love with her unique style on the spot. Only beeing the opening act - she was the only artist that reached my heart. I hope her great talent will draw even more attention in the future and that there will be much more to come.

Is the only word I can think of to describe Kami Lyle. The way she weaves her trumpet, piano, and unique voice around each song keeps the listener on his/her toes, and always wanting more. She should be a superstar before it is all said and done.

I heard Kami Lyle one night while traveling between citties listening to a PBS radio station. I pulled my truck over to the side of the road in order not to lose the station. I needed to know who this wonderful vocalist was who could sing like a horn player such poetry with music that touches my heart. I regret that there is only one album to feast my ears!
