Editorial Reviews

Product Description

2008 reissue of the L.A. Metal band's debut album, originally released in 1984. Feted and championed by the Hard Rock cognoscenti (supporters included Motley Crue and Ozzy Osbourne), this Los Angeles based quintet made all the right noises by packing both melody and muscle into their music; highly valuable commodities that found Autograph reaching a level of success that would see them out perform most of the competition. Sign In Please was, then, the bands highly praised debut album, unleashing a beast of significant fire power and songs that would stand not only the test of time but would also improve with age including the classic hit single 'Turn Up The Radio'. Taped by renowned British producer Neil Kernon (Queensryche, Dokken etc) the album exudes Class-A hard rock all the way with big hooks and solid riffs. Rock Candy. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars An 80`s metal classic, definately underrated, November 19, 1999
By A Customer
Greetings my fellow autograph friends. I would jusy like to say this album rocks from beginning to end. I discovered Autograph in late 1998 while browsing through an old Circus magazine I had brought at a Kiss convention. I saw the ad for 'Sign In Please' and figured I`d go out and buy it. I have to admit, the first time I played it I wasn`t that impressed, but after a few listens it really grew on me and has become one of my all-time favorites. This CD has everything; great choruses, razor sharp guitar playing with awesome solos and pounding, grooving drums with a splash of electronics..........I could go on and on. This CD is awesome and is definitely worth a try, especially if you don`t own it or if you are a fan of 80s metal. As for their other two follow ups, 'That`s the Stuff' and 'Loud and Clear,' they are also excellent CDs, if you can find them. 'Loud and Clear' wasn`t too hard to find, but 'That`s the Stuff' is extemely difficult to locate and if you do be prepared to fork out well over a hundred bucks for this rare CD. Anyway, 'Sign in Please' is a great album and in my mind is an underrated 80s metal classic.

P.S. Does anybody have a time machine out there? I hate the 90`s.

5.0 out of 5 stars kewl 80's keyboard metal, January 3, 2001
By Zane (Tempe, AZ) - See all my reviews
Autograph is a good band; too bad they got overshadowed by other hair metal bands like Poison and Cinderella. There's so much more here than just the big hit "Turn up the Radio". "Girlfriends Boyfriend" and "Non-stop" are great tunes too. If you can find That's the Stuff, it's great too. I'm lucky enough to have the tape; I heard it's out of print now. By the way---the lead singer, Steve Plunkett---he's the one who sings the theme song for the show 7th Heaven.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lost my virginity to this one, August 26, 2002
That's right boys and girls, there was such a thing as the 80's. It rocked. The music was great, the girls were hot, and I was in a Clearasil Heavy Metal Heaven. Sure Autograph didn't rock anywhere near as hard as old Metallica, they still had catchy tunes.

Niteteen and Non-stop was playing on the tape deck when I was in the back seat of a 77 Aspen parked at the beach. Aw those were the days.

ANyone for a reunion tour? That girl in the Aspen is probably fat and married by now, but Autograph might still sound good.
