All of Elvis' Gospel music is good but do not buy this title.

Purchase instead: Amazing Grace The Complete Gospel Sessions

All of his Gospel Music digitally remastered and included unreleased rehearsal tracks.

Suggestion: Buy the box !

This CD may not be his best, but for me it hit the spot! I bought it because a friend desperately needed it, and Elvis' mellow rendition of "Peace in the Valley" was surpassed only by "Known Only to Him". Both reveal his upbringing in the South, and his learning to sing in full gospel churches. I gladly defer to fellow reviewer Mike Kurosky of Ft. Worth TX, as to the comparison of Elvis recordings, for he is definitely the expert. I just know when a CD is good for ME, and this one was, and is.

This is a fine collection of gospel songs by Elvis Presley. Just about any time Elvis song a gospel song, the results were great, so you know the music here is wonderful. But, there are other more complete collections of Elvis' gospel material available, which I would recommend over this one. Everything here is great, but it doesn't include some of his most popular gospel songs, like "Crying in the Chapel" and "How Great Thou Art". But it does include the version of "Peace in the Valley" from The Ed Sullivan Show, so that's something.
