Beautiful Electronica, November 19, 2000
When I first listened to this CD from my roommate's collection, I have never heard of Cosmic Baby. I gave the entire CD a listen and I was amazed. This is one of my favorite CDs of all time. If you like the typical trance, techno, Ibiza trance and all that stuff, please move on. You will probably like only two tracks on this album. Too many people confuse this album with a "dancefloor" album--and it really isn't. If anything, "Thinking About Myself" is to be classified as intelligent dance music; it is only unfortunate that people regard this album as a trance album. Most tracks on this album are nothing but beatiful. On one end of the spectrum, we have the rich-sounding piano composition "Herbst in Berlin", that is only supplemented by well-placed strings in the middle. We also have "Another Day in Another City", which is an emotional track that really fits the title. "Brooklyn", "Thinking About Myself" are just a few of the notable, atmospheric and beautiful tracks on this album. On the other end of the spectrum, we have the "Fantasia" and "Loops of Infinity" duo, which are two extremely energetic, yet very melodic tracks. If anything, the weakest track in the album is "Cosmic Greets Florida". I think that track lacks the character and emotion that all other tracks on this album have. Sadly, a lot of people regard it as "one of best" tracks on the album. Cosmic Baby is an intelligent electronica artist for me, just because of this album. When people tell you that electronica is cold and heartless, I always play them this album.
