1.0 out of 5 stars The worst album I have ever heard., October 5, 1998
By A Customer
This album is not worth the CD it is recorded on. It sounds like it was a black market recoding with very poor quality dubbing. Don't waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT from soundboard, don't waste your $!!, November 19, 2001
By skysplitter (Bradford, MA United States) - See all my reviews
...I love Roy Orbison and I was looking to add a few titles to my collection to hear what he was like live. As soon as I popped this CD in, I knew something was wrong. This CD is NOT mastered from a source like the mixing desk/soundboard. It sounds like a semi-decent audience recording. Treble is WAY too high, the keyboards on this are really over the top, you can't hear the bass really and you can hear the audience over the musicians. I've collected live shows of many artists over the years, so believe me when I say this is an audience recording. And, it's not even a good audience recording. Some of the sound even "rolls" like it was recorded on an old audio cassette and deteriorated over time.

This CD was made in Belgium with some of the artwork, etc, done in Holland. As some people are aware, Holland used to be a major manafacturer of bootleg concerts on CD and tape. I'm positive this is an attempt to try and legitimately release a bootleg and not get hounded by the RIAA.

...Do NOT buy this CD, do not waste your money like I did. ...

1.0 out of 5 stars No, don't listen to ..., November 21, 2001
By A Customer
The first reviewer is absolutely correct. The sound on this recording is abysmal. If it is not a bootleg that managed to sneak through the cracks and gain "official" release through retailers such as ..., I'd be quite surprised. If it is, in fact, a legitimate official recording from a legitimate label, then it is, simply put, garbage--and way, way below acceptable standards.

...

Yes, I'm a big R.O. fan. And, as such, I'd want to purchase cds of his music that are high quality, with the best possible sound quality that does his wonderful music and voice justice. This cd simply does not make the cut. It is so poor, in fact, that I question its legitimacy; it sounds like a mediocre bootleg recording. Scan other reviews for considerably better live Orbison recordings. Do not purchase this one. Buyer beware.

The 1-star reviewers are correct -- this is an audience recording and sounds nothing like a professional live release. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars don't listen to the so-called "music fan from california"
I haven't heard this exact album, but I like to think I know talent when I hear it (and I've heard not a few Roy Orbison songs that happen to be on this album). Read more
