4.0 out of 5 stars Listen to the lyrics!, December 8, 2003
By A Customer
When i first bought this album, a few years ago I was angree at myself that i did not listen to this album in the store first because i would not have bought it then.

But after listening to it for a few times I realy got in to this cd. Singing along with 'Raw Meat' or 'somebody special'
I resonated with 'pipeline' and the emotions and questions Fish has add in this song. The lyrics are fantastic! It takes some effort to listen to it the first time but after this you will understand why this album was made in this way.

Bit different but still very very good!
As all albums fish has made!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Just Financial, But Artistic Bankruptcy, January 20, 1999
By Mat Hames (Austin, TX USA) - See all my reviews
It is provable that an artist cannot hit the peak of his abilities and go on indefinitely. Just buy a copy of Marillion's densely-textured "Clutching at Straws" with lead singer Fish - then contrast with this tedious, sell-out solo album "Suits". Every rock star eventually takes a fall, but no one has fallen harder artistically than Fish.

He likes to complain about a "bandwagon" mentality that is keeping him from earning his rightful place in the pantheon of Pop stars like Phil Collins and Sting. However, Fish needs to turn some of that venom away from the record companies and onto himself. These excrutiatingly bad 10 tracks are some of the worst... ever recorded. It has never been more apparent that Fish wants to become a big pop star, cranking out middle-of-the-road, lite adult contemporary tunes. Problem is, he can't write his own music so his destiny is in the hands of some inempt, inexperienced studio musicians who probably just cut their teeth on their first Fender.

I could bemoan all night about the artist formerly unknown as Fish, but I'll wrap this up by simply saying....
