In this workout, formerly titled Sweatin' to the Oldies 4, Richard Simmons leads another spirited and playful dance party. He and his group of wildly happy followers dance energetically to songs like "Shout," "Dance to the Music," "Heat Wave," "Proud Mary," "Devil with a Blue Dress," and "Mony Mony." His group of exercisers is smaller this time, but the band is larger, sometimes including gospel singers. This workout is longer and somewhat more intense than in earlier Sweatin' videos, with some faster and more intricate steps. If you're a complete beginner, start with one of the earlier ones, but if you've already worked your way up through the first three, you're ready for this one. This video is really great when you get the steps down. He is confusing at first, but after a few times you'll get it down. I have a herniated disk in my back so I haven't been able to go back to the Tae-Bo-type workouts quite yet. This video was wonderful for my back. It made me feel better, which (anyone with a bad back will tell you) is a miracle after aerobics. You aren't jolting your back at all. I add more intensity by incorporating larger movements into the workout. You don't have to follow him EXACTLY!

I would recommend this to anyone. My mom loves it and she's been the aerobics queen for years. At almost 60 years old, she can't handle the high-impact aerobics anymore. It's high-intensity, not high-impact. You get the same workout as you would jumping and jolting your joints in a high-impact aerobics class, without the trauma to your body. The music is great too!

I love the Richard Simmons tapes - they have really converted me from a couch potato to someone who positively enjoys exercising. Like the earlier "Sweatin' to the Oldies" tapes, this workout is a lot of fun and you can feel how much good it's doing you. My husband loves these workouts too (both for doing them himself and for their effect on me!).

This tape is definitely higher energy than the earlier "Sweatin' to the Oldies" tapes, so I wouldn't start with this one, unless you're already fairly fit. But if you're comfortable with the others, you'll do this one fine.

I was a little leary of buying this video thinking I wouldn't get much of a work out. I was completely wrong. It gives a great workout to great music and includes many dance moves that are fun. The whole video is very upbeat, without the usual RS stuff you'd expect. I found him to be very likable in this workout video.
