4.0 out of 5 stars A Really Good Pure Heavy Metal Release, March 10, 2003
By Twitch (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews

As it has been said before, Pissing Razors, Skinlab, and Pantera are - basically - the only true heavy metal bands left in the music world, and I could not agree with that more. Pissing Razor's self titled debut has both its share of good and bad, but is a great album non-the-less. With Joe Rodiguez's stellar vocals, Matt Lynch's excellent guitar shredding, and production from the immaculate Andy Sneap (Skinlab). Pissing Razors has taken the riffs of old school metal and fused it with new school bass lines to create a great example of heavy metal in its purest form. Though it does contain some - for lack of a better term - bad moments (the intro to "Life of a Lunatic" and the whole of the terrible "Silent Hatred" - Joey C.'s rapping (yes, rapping) is absolutely dreadful and ruins a great riff) but the good out weighs the bad. Even though I thought 'Where We Come From' and 'Fields of Disbelief' were much better than this, "Permanent" is tied with "Burning Bridges" for the best Pissing Razors song. Also, "For What it's Worth" and "Tortured" are two excellent tracks (not to mention the cools-as-hell interlude "Sounds (of Doom)"). All in all, I have to recommend this to anybody who loves heavy metal.

If you like this, I would definitely recommend their latest album, "Where We Come From" (not the song on this album), to everybody, it dwarfs this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Where We Come From, February 12, 2002
By Chopper (El Paso, Tx) - See all my reviews
I followed the band since they started playing at a local bar in their home town, El Paso, Tx. Eversince, I knew the boys had talent...This CD will be a a deep-down dirty reality check of what music is all about...The intensity of this record will knock you of the face of the earth...Be introduced to real talent and originality!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ungodly Hardcore, March 18, 2001
By Hammerlock (Boulder, CO) - See all my reviews
This is just insanely vicious, violent, and insane. Their sound has a few rough edges compared to Cast Down The Plague and Fields of Deceit, but it still deserves 5 stars becuase songs like "Tortured", "Life Of A Lunatic", and "Season To Die" deliver the hardcore guitar violence that fans of Pissing Razors have come to expect. This CD set a precedent for Pissing Razors that has never been undercut or compromised.
