Rolling Stones - A run-through of the "Get Yer Ya-Yas Out!" Super Deluxe Version

Biography

The Rolling Stones were one of the greatest rock’n’roll bands of the 20th Century. Initially a blues covers band who gradually integrated themselves into the so-called ‘British Invasion’ (of the American charts), the Stones developed into the only group capable of rivalling the Beatles in the late 60s. By comparison to the Stones, the Beatles were seen as a clean cut pop group who avoided dealing… Read more in Amazon's The Rolling Stones Store

5.0 out of 5 stars quot;Live With Me" and "Gimme Shelter" . . ., March 5, 1999
By fly_z@hotmail.com (Kentucky, USA) - See all my reviews
Keith Richards' and Ronnie Wood's guitars are mixed in very strongly on this CD (definitely more so than on "No Security" CD. Along with great saxophone and rythmn sounds this is the ass-kickingest version of "Live with Me" you'll ever hear followed by an equally incredible "Gimme Shelter."

Tremendous bluesy intro to "Tumbling Dice" with only piano and hand clapping and Mick and Keith and backups singing for first stanza which then leads into live recording.

No telling how many times I've played this 4-song release. I can't seem to get enough of it. If you're a true Stones' fan I can't imagine you not loving this CD. Though only 4 songs IT IS WORTH IT!

5.0 out of 5 stars The epitome of rock and roll, August 15, 2000
By Randy G Murray (Van Alstyne, TX United States) - See all my reviews
I picked up this cd in a small record store in Ohio and was blown away. The Stripped cut of Wild Horses is the same but the import also has cuts from their small club tour. This cd has the greatest cut of Gimmie Shelter I have ever heard. The vocals of Mr. Jagger and backup singer Lisa are wonderful, not to mention that Mr. Richards does his finest work on the Gibson 335 in this cut. Since it was recorded in a small club you get the echo sound against the concrete walls. The tracks of tumbling dice and live with me are also the best I have heard. If you like the stones or just like good hard rock and blues pick this one up

5.0 out of 5 stars Even Better Than "Stripped", January 28, 2004
By R. Serpico "rserp" (St. Paul, MN United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The three unreleased live tracks are the best versions I have ever heard! I can't believe these songs didn't make the "Stripped" album. This is an essential Stones cd!!! Also, the cd single "Like A Rolling Stone" is a must-have-Stones-purchase! It has two unreleased live versions of "Black Limousine" and "All Down The Line" from the Stripped sesions. Buy both cds!!!
