5.0 out of 5 stars Best CD ever, August 1, 2002
By William Lester (Salisbury, Wiltshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Thi is the most catchiest cd I have ever heard and I just can't get enough of it. Here's how I rate all the songs:

Nowhere Slow- excellent fast paced punk song, very catchy 9.5/10

All That You Have- Probably my least favourite song with ska riff, but still quite good 8/10

She's Anti-Very funny song with a cool guitar riff and cool lyrics 9.5/10

Surfer Girl-Something very different from the rest of the album but a top tune 9/10

Last Nite Regrets- Best song so far, more serious than the previous four and one of the highlights of the album 10/10

Suffer-Another classic 10/10

Your Past- A much slower paced song but there's something about it that I love 10/10

Piss Off- The catchiest song on the album with a cool guitar solo to round it off 10/10

Grow Up -Fast paced cool song 9/10

Let Go- Another fast one, perhaps not that catchy 8.5/10

Bad News Blair- Very cool and catchy, one of the great tunes on the album 10/10

Kids- Ska riff on a ligth hearted song which is really effective 9/10

Wow, She's Dumb-This song is fast. catchy, cool and it has everything 10/10

Envy Me- Not as good as the rest but believe me you'll listen to it 8/10

Reflections- Something slow to finish the album 9/10

So basically this album is packed with good tunes that you'll want to listen to again and again. I recommend it if you like bands on Drive-Thru records as they're all amazing

5.0 out of 5 stars Entertaining & fun punk, November 9, 2001
By Rex Marksmanson "HEYO!" (Long Island, New York) - See all my reviews
The title of my review should pretty much sum it up, Home Grown delivers all the way on "Act Your Age". They are a nice change of pace from the usual punk scene, adding the more immature and fun side in, similar to groups such as Blink 182 and Less Than Jake. Funny but well thought out lyrics, catchy beats and great guitar and drum work really make this one complete package. Harder edged songs like "Nowhere Slow", "Suffer", "Grow Up" & "Reflections" really pump up the energy level. On the other hand fun songs such as "All that you have", "Last nite regrets", "Surfer girl", "P**s off" & "Your past" entertain you from start to finish. Any punk fan can really appreciate this great album by Home Grown.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun for the Kids, July 28, 1999
By A Customer
Homegrown has a fresh sound, extremely catchy lyrics, and a great sense of humor. "Surfer Girl" is the one of the best songs I've heard in awhile (at least since Blink gave us "Josie"). They definitely deserve a little more attention than some of their more well-known peers - thanks for an awesome CD!

I'm nearly 25...and this album was pretty cool when it came out and I was listening to so-cal punk rock ("real" punk rock). I truthfully think this CD is amazing. Read more

lets get one thing straight. these guys are NOT punk (punk = bad religion, nofx, rancid, black flag). they're not even pop-punk (pop-punk = ramones, buzzcocks, green day). Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars the best Home Grown album
This is the best of the Home Grown albums out there. Though Kings of Pop was great, I hope they stick to the style of Act Your Age. By far the best.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lord have mercy. . .
With Act Your Age you get your typical pop/punk album, which isn't a bad thing. However, this band doesn't even come close to the likes of Blink 182 and MxPx. Read more
