The Ladies have done more than lie in bed the way Brian Wilson did; they've spent some quality sandbox time mastering the intricacies of catchy pop records, hooks and all. Sounding at times like Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young after a week in the Caribbean, the Ladies mix a dash of rap with a pop backbeat on "One Week," while "It's All Been Done" is classic 1960s Top 40, right down to the "woo-hoo-hoo" backing vocals. The lyrics are the hidden joy on this record, with lines like "I love you more than I did the week before I discovered alcohol" and the male voice singing about tying his pantyhose around his neck. The songs are well crafted and the production flushes out the Ladies' hidden musical talents, resulting in their best effort since Gordon. --Katie Sigler

I'm sure that you already have the real verison of this album...everyone does. But this limited edition has the two extra songs Long Way Home and She's On Time. Long Way Home is a countryish songs, that is ok, nothing great. But She's On Time is classic BNL. It's about not getting your girlfriend pregnant and hopping that...well...she's on time (sort-of like that.) It is a funny song about not becoming a dad. Plus this album has all the other great songs on it that you already know about.

When I bought this album,I thought it was going to be the best BNL yet, but I still think that Maybe you should drive is the best ever, and that they are much better in concert than they are on record. This album just isin't serious enough. They are usually just quirky enough to be funny(and are hilarious in concert)but as of yet, they hadn't seemed so,well, american. I like the fact that they are canadian, and some of these songs just didn't quite make it. I can still listen to it over and over, but it just dosen't compare to the first two albums of thiers, especailly indstrumentally. So it's worth buying, but if you've never heard BNL, buy maybe you should drive and gordon first.

Being a Barenaked fan for the past six years I have to admit that this is not one of their finer efforts. A true fan will always find material on Gordon to be the most outstanding but there are some really great moments on this disc especially the crafted Some Fantastic and I'll be that Girl. As they've gotten older the boys have defintely mellowed out. But we all know that it's all worth it at a live show.
